  New EU procurement thresholds
New advertising thresholds were published on 1 January 2010 which will apply for two years. These values dictate whether a contract (tender) will be advertised in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) and the website TED ie across the EU. Contracts with lower values are not required to be advertised in the OJEU - generally referred to as ‘lower-value’. Supply2.gov.uk is the national advertising platform for ‘lower-value’ opportunities.

Double Win for Clients on COI Tender

Two clients (INVOLVE and Spinning Clock) bid for a Central Office of Information tender and Tony Zemaitis Associates supported them both... and both of them won! This was a large framework agreement covering different services, thankfully there was very little overlap between the clients and confidentiality protocols are in place to avoid conflicts of interest.

New Free Sales and Tendering Training in SE London from South East Enterprise (SEE)

Tony Zemaitis is running two new training courses for South East Enterprise, the Greenwich based Enterprise Agency. These form a two-part course on sales appointments: (1) How to get Sales Appointments and (2) How to Maximise your Sales Appointment.

These are free to local businesses and the first ones are being held in November 2009.

Tony has been running a course entitled How to Win Tenders for SEE for a few years and the next one is also in November.

  Free access to supply2.gov.uk tenders website
The Government has announced that it will scrap the subscription fee for small businesses to view public sector procurement contracts on its www.supply2.gov.uk website. BIS said that firms will now be able to access tenders advertised on the website without having to pay a £180 annual charge. The free service would be "an interim step" toward introducing a single website for all public sector contracts in 2010. Full story:

Budget does not help small firms win contracts with the Government

The Forum for Private Business (FPB) asked the Chancellor to use the Budget to introduce measures to help small firms win contracts with the Government. However, aside from measures announced in the Pre-Budget Report, there was nothing new mentioned.

Tony Zemaitis Associates are working with Supplier Select to develop a training support service to help bidders submit first rate e-tenders and online RFPs.

Its a web Based software for eTendering, supplier evaluation and electronic Request For Proposal (eRFx). Sophisticated questionnaires can be drafted, issued, and answered online, and the responses scored, weighted and analysed using charting tools.
